NEWPORT, R.I., July 9 (UPI) -- Fifth-seeded Mardy Fish earned a spot in the semifinals of the Hall of Fame Tennis Championships Friday with a three-set victory over Frank Dancevic.
Fish, runner-up at a Wimbledon tuneup event in London a month ago, defeated Dancevic 6-7 (6-8), 6-4, 6-4 on the grass courts at the International Tennis Hall of Fame.

It was the fourth quarterfinal appearance in this tournament for Fish and his first victory. He will meet qualifier Richard Bloomfield Saturday in the semifinals.
Bloomfield reached the semifinals of an ATP tournament for the first time by downing Ryan Harrison 5-7, 7-6 (7-3), 7-5.
The other semifinal, which was determined on Thursday, will send Olivier Rochus against Brian Dabul.
