BUDAPEST, Hungary, July 7 (UPI) -- Patty Schnyder pulled off a straight-set upset of No. 1-seeded Alisa Kleybanova at the $220,000 Budapest Grand Prix tennis tournament in Hungary.

Schnyder fought off 12-of-13 break-point chances for Kleybanova in her 6-4, 6-3 win while finishing off three of the four break opportunities she gave herself in the second-round match.

Her quarterfinal opponent will be eighth-seeded Polona Hercog, who escaped Catalina Castano 4-6, 6-4, 6-4 in a match that took more than 2 1/2 hours. Hercog had a pair of service breaks in each set.

Anastasija Sevastova routed fifth-seeded Shuai Peng 6-1, 6-1 in 48 minutes. Sevastova didn't face a break point and won 58 percent of the points off Peng's serve.

The day's fourth second-round match was suspended because of darkness with second-seeded Alexandra Dulgheru tied with Anna Chakvetadze 7-6 (7-5), 1-6.

In addition to the completion of the Dulgheru-Chakvetadze match, Thursday's schedule calls for second-round matches that involve seventh-seeded and defending champion Agnes Szavay and third-seeded Timea Bacsinszky.
