ANAHEIM, Calif., July 5 (UPI) -- Torii Hunter homered twice and drove in seven runs and Joel Pineiro foiled Kansas City for seven innings Sunday in an 11-0 Los Angeles Angels win.

Hunter hit a three-run blast in the third inning, added a two-shot in the seventh and drove in two more with an eighth-inning single as the Angels avoided a three-game sweep at the hands of the Royals.

Paul McAnulty chipped in with a two-run homer for Los Angeles.

Pineiro (9-6), who gave up six hits and four walks, equaled a career high by winning his sixth straight start.

Kansas City starter Anthony Lerew (1-2) was rocked for six runs on six hits over five innings of work.
