LOS ANGELES, July 3 (UPI) -- The Los Angeles Dodgers have placed star outfielder Manny Ramirez on the 15-day disabled list with a nagging hamstring injury, the team said Saturday.

The move comes after Ramirez missed the last two games and underwent an MRI exam Thursday that revealed inflammation in the area of his right hamstring.

The 38-year-old first tweaked the hamstring while running the bases last week against San Francisco.

The move is retroactive to June 30 for the Dodgers outfielder, who is batting .322 with 39 RBI, eight homers and a .412 on-base percentage in 59 games.
