Rose rallies to take Aronimink lead

NEWTOWN SQUARE, Pa., July 2 (UPI) -- Justin Rose climbed back from three strokes down Friday to post a one-shot lead at the AT&T National at Aronimink Golf Club.

Rose a fired bogey-free 6-under 64, moving ahead of Jason Day (68) thanks to birdies on the 16th and 17th holes, and finishing the round by two-putting for par to end at 7-under 133 after 36 holes.

Day, who played the back nine first, parred three straight then stumbled to a bogey on the par-4 fourth.

Charley Hoffman (67) and Jeff Overton (68) finished Friday tied for fourth at 4-under 136.

Eight players were tied for sixth place at minus-3.

Defending Aronimink champ Tiger Woods struggled to shoot an even-par 70 but made the cut on the number at 3-over 143.
