PITTSBURGH, July 2 (UPI) -- Ross Ohlendorf and two relievers combined for a five-hit shutout Friday and the Pittsburgh Pirates tamed Philadelphia 2-0.
Ohlendorf (1-6) notched his first victory in 16 starts dating back to August 2009. He stopped the Phillies on five hits, walking only one and fanning eight.
Joel Hanrahan hurled a scoreless eighth and Octavio Dotel earned his 18th save with a 1-2-3 ninth as the Pirates won for the fourth time in five games.
The Pirates scored both of the game's runs in the fourth inning when Andy LaRoche knocked a bases-loaded single and Ryan Doumit came in to score on a throwing error by Phillies pitcher Jamie Moyer (9-7).
Moyer went six innings, allowing only the one earned run and striking out eight as Philadelphia dropped its fourth in five games.
