
SAN DIEGO, July 2 (UPI) -- Michael Bourn drove in two runs with a 10th-inning triple Thursday and the Houston Astros held on to beat San Diego 6-3.
Jeff Keppinger followed up with a single that send Bourn home with the third run of the inning for Houston.
Chris Sampson (1-0) pitched one inning of scoreless relief to pick up the win. Matt Lindstrom set the Padres down in order in the bottom of the 10th for his 19th save.
Luke Gregerson (2-3) was tagged with the loss after allowing three runs on three hits and two walks in the 10th.
Jason Michaels went 2-for-5 and had a solo home run leading off a 3-run Houston second that put the Astros ahead 3-0. Keppinger drove in two more runs in the inning with a single.
San Diego picked up a run in the fifth off starter Greg Moehler, who gave up four hits in 5 2/3 innings. The Padres then tied the game 3-3 with a pair of runs in the seventh.
