BOSTON, June 30 (UPI) -- Matt Garza went seven innings and Jason Bartlett popped a three-run homer Monday in the Tampa Bay Rays' 9-4 win over Boston.
Garza (9-5) tossed five scoreless innings to begin the game and eventually allowed three runs on four hits, walking four and striking out seven en route to his fourth win in five starts.
Bartlett's blast capped a six-run eighth-inning uprising that saw the Rays break the contest open and notch only their fourth win in 13 contests.
Sean Rodriguez and Kelly Shoppach added two RBI apiece for the victors.
Daisuke Matsuzaka (5-3) took the defeat, yielding three runs in six innings. Boston Reliever Manny Delcarmen was lit up for five runs in the eighth without retiring a batter.
