CNN suspends Martin for Super Bowl tweets

SAN DIEGO, June 30 (UPI) -- Scott Hairston's bases-clearing double in the fourth inning capped a six-run San Diego outburst Wednesday and the Padres pounded Colorado 13-3.
Hairston's three-run hit made it 9-2 Padres and highlighted a 14-hit San Diego attack, 12 of which were singles.
Hairston finished with four RBI, his brother Jerry Hairston Jr. knocked in a pair, and Chase Headley collected two hits and an RBI as the first-place Padres salvaged one win out of a three-game set at Petco Park.
Clayton Richard (6-4) held the Rockies to two runs on five hits over seven innings of work.
Colorado starter Jeff Francis (2-3) was lit up for eight runs in three innings.
