
KANSAS CITY, Mo., June 30 (UPI) -- Alberto Callaspo doubled in the go-ahead run and Jose Guillen added a three-run homer Wednesday in the Kansas City Royals' 7-6 defeat of the Chicago White Sox.
Callaspo's sixth-inning RBI to broke a 1-1 tie, Guillen's shot upped the Royals' lead to 7-1 and Kansas City hung on to take its second straight from Chicago at Kauffman Stadium.
Billy Butler socked a solo homer and drove in two runs and starter Zack Greinke (4-8) survived a late White Sox rally to complete eight innings, allowing six runs on 10 hits.
Joakim Soria hurled a scoreless ninth to preserve Kansas City's victory and rack up his 20th save, tying him with Neftali Feliz of Texas for the most in the American League.
Jake Peavy (7-6) surrendered three runs on seven hits in a six-inning start for the White Sox.
