MLB: Seattle 7, New York Yankees 4

NEW YORK, June 29 (UPI) -- Cliff Lee allowed three earned runs in a complete game performance and the Seattle Mariners downed the New York Yankees 7-4 Tuesday.

Lee (7-3), rumored to be on the trading block, didn't hurt his stock with his outing against the world champions. He scattered eight hits, issued one walk and fanned two in hurling his fifth complete game of the year and 17th of his career.

Ichiro Suzuki and Rob Johnson each collected two hits and a pair of RBI, and Franklin Gutierrez went 2-for-3 with two runs scored in Seattle's win.

Phil Hughes (10-2) absorbed the loss for New York, yielding six earned runs on 10 hits over 5 2/3 innings.

Nick Swisher swatted a pair of solo homers for the Yankees, who lost at home for only the 11th time against 25 wins.
