CINCINNATI, June 29 (UPI) -- Raul Ibanez stroked a run-scoring double in the 10th inning to spark a three-run rally that lifted the Philadelphia Phillies to a 9-6 win over Cincinnati.
Ben Francisco and Wilson Valdez also drove in runs in the extra frame, enabling the Phillies to salvage a victory after closer Brad Lidge blew a three-run lead in the bottom of the ninth.
Brian Schneider and Valdez each socked three-run homers en route to a 6-3 Phillies lead in the ninth, but Lidge (1-0) faltered. He got the first two outs, but then walked Brandon Phillips, gave up a single to Orlando Cabrera and surrendered a game-tying, three-run homer to Joey Votto.
Phillies starter Joe Blanton allowed three runs on eight hits and two walks over 7 2/3 innings. He struck out two.
Arthur Rhodes (2-2) was saddled with the loss for Cincinnati, allowing all three Philadelphia runs in the 10th.
