ENDICOTT, N.Y., June 27 (UPI) -- Loren Roberts birdied the 18th hole to cap a back-nine charge and claim the Dick's Sporting Goods Open title Sunday by one stroke.

Roberts began the streak with a eagle on the 12th hole and ended it with a crucial 7-foot birdie putt on the 18th to finish the final round with a 7-under-par 65, edging Fred Funk by a single shot at 15-under 201.

With his win at the En-Joie course in Endicott, N.Y., Roberts notched his 12th career Champions Tour title and earned a $255,000 first-place prize.

Funk also shot a 65, finishing at minus-14, while second-round leader Dan Forsman ran into trouble with three late bogeys, ending with a round of 71 and a share of third place at 13-under 203.

Also finishing tied for third were Nick Price (68) and Wayne Levi (69).
