Former NBA player Orlando Woolridge arrested for theft
PHILADELPHIA, June 27 (UPI) -- Jamie Moyer hurled seven strong innings and Philadelphia stroked 13 hits Sunday en route to the Phillies' 11-2 inter-league rout of Toronto.
The ageless Moyer was tough, holding the Blue Jays' potent line-up to two runs on six hits, issuing no walks and striking out seven.
He did, however, allow a home run to Vernon Wells, the 506th in his 24-year major league career, a record.
Jimmy Rollins and Ben Francisco each collected three hits and drove in a pair of runs and Dane Sardinha got two RBI as the Phillies took the rubber match of a three-game series originally scheduled to be played in Toronto but moved to Philadelphia due to the Group of 20 economic summit.
Brett Cecil (7-5) absorbed the loss for the Blue Jays, surrendering five earned runs on 10 hits over 4 2/3 innings.
