Former NBA player Orlando Woolridge arrested for theft

ATLANTA, June 27 (UPI) -- Brennan Boesch homered and drove in three runs Sunday and the Detroit Tigers pounded Atlanta 10-4 in an inter-league match-up.
Boesch got an RBI single in the fourth to put the Tigers up 2-0 and then delivered a two-run clout an inning later for an 8-2 advantage, helping Detroit avoid a sweep in its three-game series at Turner Field.
Austin Jackson went 3-for-5 with two RBI and two runs scored, and Gerald Laird contributed three hits and knocked in a run for the victors.
Justin Verlander (9-5) pitched seven strong innings for Detroit, surrendering four runs on six hits.
Atlanta starter Tommy Hanson (7-5) was roughed up for five earned runs on eight hits before being knocked out after 3 2/3 innings.
