
CHICAGO, June 23 (UPI) -- A.J. Pierzynski and Omar Vizquel delivered two-run singles in a big second inning Tuesday and the Chicago White Sox downed Atlanta 9-6 in an inter-league game.
Alex Rios added an RBI hit in the five-run uprising off Tommy Hanson (7-4), lifting the White Sox to their seventh straight victory.
Pierzynski finished 3-for-4 with two runs scored and Carlos Quentin added a three-run homer for the victors.
John Danks (7-5) held the Braves to three runs on six hits in seven innings of work, walking only one and fanning three.
Bobby Jenks got the final out of the game for his 15th save, rescuing Scott Linebrink, who allowed the Braves to score twice in the ninth.
Brooks Conrad drove in three runs with a pair of doubles in Atlanta's loss.
