Vikings' Asher Allen retires at age 24

LOS ANGELES, June 15 (UPI) -- The Los Angeles Dodgers have placed starting pitcher Chad Billingsley on the 15-day disabled list, the team said Tuesday.
Billingsley has been hampered by a groin injury, although an MRI exam revealed no structural damage.
The move comes after the 6-foot-1, 245-pound right-hander was rocked Friday for seven runs on nine hits over 5 2/3 innings against the Los Angeles Angels -- raising his earned run average to 4.34 and dropping him to 6-4 in 13 starts this season.
Billingsley has allowed opponents to hit .271 against him this season, much higher than last year's mark of .244.
The Dodgers did not immediately announce a move to fill the pitcher's place on the roster.
