Vikings' Asher Allen retires at age 24

LOS ANGELES, June 13 (UPI) -- Juan Rivera's two-run homer Saturday fueled a 4-2 Los Angeles Angels victory over the Los Angeles Dodgers.
Howie Kendrick and Torii Hunter helped secure the inter-league win with RBI doubles. Scott Kazmir improved to 6-5 by getting through five innings, giving up two runs on three hits and four walks. He's now won three straight.
The Dodgers got their runs on a two-run double by Russell Martin but failed to score eight of the nine times they had runners in scoring position. John Ely saw his record slip to 3-3 after allowing the four runs on six hits and three walks over five innings.
The Angels are now 10-3 on their 14-game road trip.
