
CHICAGO, June 10 (UPI) -- Ramon Castro hit a three-run homer Wednesday and the Chicago White Sox put together two seven-run innings in crushing Detroit 15-3.
The homer by Castro came during a seven-run fourth and he also singled in the first of the seven runs Chicago scored in the eighth. Brent Lillibridge finished off the eighth with a three-run shot, his first homer of the season.
Omar Vizquel had three RBI with a single in the fourth and a double in the eighth. He produced the 2,723rd hit of his career, moving him past Lou Gehrig into 55th place on the all-time list.
Freddy Garcia (6-3) gave up three runs on seven hits over seven innings to get the win. Rick Purcell (4-6) surrendered eight runs and eight hits in 3 1/3 innings to take the loss.
The White Sox had 16 hits, helping Freddy Garcia to a 12-2 record in his last 15 starts against Detroit.
