
ARLINGTON, Texas, June 9 (UPI) -- Josh Hamilton finished off a six-run second inning with a two-run homer Wednesday and the Texas Rangers sailed past Seattle 12-2.
The Rangers pounded out 14 hits, eight of them off starting pitcher Ian Snell (0-5). Snell retired only five batters and gave up eight runs.
C.J. Wilson (5-3) benefited from the offense, allowing four hits and two runs to win his second straight start. He has a 6-2 all-time record against the Mariners.
Michael Young hit a solo homer in the first and drove in the first of the second-inning runs with a single. Vladimir Guerrero had three hits and had an RBI in each of the first two innings.
Texas shortstop Elvis Andrus went 0-for-5 and had his 13-game hit streak snapped. The Rangers were 7-for-14 with men in scoring position and Seattle was 2-for-9.
