NEW YORK, June 8 (UPI) -- Ike Davis blasted a home run in the 11th inning Tuesday to give the New York Mets a 2-1 victory over San Diego.
Davis belted a high breaking pitch from Edward Mujica (2-1) into the second deck in right field leading off the Mets' 11th, ending the game and handing New York its ninth straight win at Citi Field.
Elmer Dessens (1-1) was credited with the win after recording the final out in the top of the 11th.
Mets starter Mike Pelfrey allowed only one run over nine innings, walking none and striking out six. Pelfrey has given up two runs in 17 innings in his two starts, both against the Padres.
Jose Reyes got New York's only other run on a seventh-inning homer that was video-reviewed by the umpires.
