HOUSTON, June 2 (UPI) -- Lance Berkman's two-run single in the bottom of the ninth Tuesday rallied the Houston Astros to an 8-7 win over Washington.
Trailing 7-6 and facing Washington closer Matt Capps (0-2), the Astros took advantage of third baseman Ryan Zimmerman's throwing error to put Pedro Feliz on third with one out.
Pinch-hitter Corey Sullivan then chased him home with an RBI double to tie the score. Sullivan went to third on a fielder's choice and came home with the game-winner on Berkman's single to center field.
Berkman ended 3-for-5 with five RBI.
Wilton Lopez (2-0) was credited with the win for getting the last two outs in the top of the ninth, during which the Astros blew a 6-5 lead.
Nyjer Morgan and Ian Desmond each collected two hits and an RBI for the Nationals.
