LOS ANGELES, June 2 (UPI) -- Los Angeles Lakers center Andrew Bynum said Wednesday his troublesome right knee has re-filled with fluid after it was drained Monday.
Bynum told reporters the knee was again swollen but that he would nonetheless play in Thursday's Game 1 of the NBA Finals against the Boston Celtics, the Los Angeles Times reported.
"We were just kind of hoping it wouldn't (swell again) so it would feel better," Bynum said. "But I'm used to playing with the swelling in there. It's not any bigger than before we drained it. So, I'm just going to go out there and play."
The Times said Bynum engaged in light practicing Wednesday at Staples Center but didn't carry out any full-court drills.
"The tear (in the cartilage) is still going to be there," he told the Times. "The problem is still there, so (the fluid) is probably going to come back."
