FORT WORTH, Texas, May 30 (UPI) -- Zach Johnson charged from behind Sunday, setting a tournament scoring record en route to claiming the Crowne Plaza Invitational at Colonial by three strokes.
Johnson carded a 6-under 64 and finished with all-time tourney low score of 21-under-par 259, three shots better than third-round leader Brian Davis.
Johnson ended the event tied for first in the distance of putts made, using five long putts of 10, 22, 22, 25 and 14 feet on the back nine to complete birdies and spark his charge from one shot down at the end of Saturday's third round.
Davis finished alone in second, registering a bogey on the 18th hole after shooting 10 consecutive pars to end with a round of 68 and minus-18 for the tourney.
Ben Crane drained a 32-foot birdie putt on 18 to grab a share third place with Jeff Overton at 17-under-par 263. Both Crane and Overton notched 67s Sunday.
