MLB: New York Yankees 7, Cleveland 3

NEW YORK, May 30 (UPI) -- Mark Teixeira smashed a seventh-inning home run Sunday, rallying the New York Yankees to a 7-3 win over Cleveland.

Trailing 3-0 entering the frame, the Yankees put runners on second and third with two outs against Indians starter Justin Masterson and Derek Jeter lashed singled to center, pulling New York to within 3-2.

Tony Sipp (0-1) came in to relieve and surrendered a double to Curtis Granderson, sending Jeter to third. Teixeira followed by socking a deep shot to left field, lifting the Yankees to a win in the rubber match of a three-game weekend series.

Jeter ended 2-for-5, and Juan Miranda collected a pair of hits and knocked in a run in the comeback victory.

New York starter A.J. Burnett (6-2) went eight solid innings, giving up three runs on five hits, walking none and fanning eight.

Trevor Crowe led Cleveland at the plate, going 2-for-4 with an RBI.
