NEW YORK, May 29 (UPI) -- Jason Donald's two-run double highlighted an explosive seventh inning rally that boosted the Cleveland Indians to a 13-11 win over the New York Yankees.
Trailing 10-5 entering the frame, the Indians sent 11 men to the plate, scoring seven runs to take command of the contest.
After New York reliever David Robertson allowed one Cleveland run, Joba Chamberlain (1-3) came on with two outs and allowed five straight runners to reach base. Mark Grudzielanek's RBI single made it 10-7 Yankees and Lou Marson followed with a 2-run double to pull the Indians to within a run.
Donald the made the key hit, plating Jhonny Peralta and Marson with the go-ahead runs.
Marson ended with three doubles and three RBI, Austin Kearns was 3-for-5 with three driven in and LaPorta plated a pair in Cleveland's win.
Rafael Perez (1-0) got the win after tossing a sixth inning and Kerry Wood notched his second save of the year.
Robinson Cano and Alex Rodriguez each drove in three runs in New York's loss.
Indians starter David Huff was hospitalized after Rodriguez's third-inning liner hit him in the head. He was removed from the field on a stretcher and taken to a nearby hospital where CT scans revealed no brain damage.
