BRIDGEVIEW, Ill., May 27 (UPI) -- Brian McBride scored a controversial goal in the 40th minute Thursday that pulled the Chicago Fire into a 1-1 tie with Dallas.

Dallas has played 10 games this season and has tied six of them. Chicago (2-3-4) went winless in its four games in May.

David Ferreira scored his first goal of the season just 6 minutes into the contest, running into a long ball and firing one past goalkeeper Andrew Dykstra.

McBride scored on a header, but replays showed he was well offside.
