MLB: Milwaukee 4, Minnesota 3

MINNEAPOLIS, May 23 (UPI) -- Corey Hart blasted a long two-run homer and Prince Fielder added a solo shot Sunday in the Milwaukee Brewers' 4-3 victory over Minnesota.

Hart's shot in the fourth inning reached the third deck in left field at Target Field, the first clout to reach that territory in the new ball park, and erased a 2-1 Twins lead.

Fielder's poke to right in the sixth added a much-needed insurance run for the Brewers, who salvaged a victory in their three-game inter-league series with Minnesota and took only their second win in 13 games.

The Twins mounted a comeback in the ninth, pulling to within a run on Jason Kubel's RBI single off John Axford. But Axford got his first save when rookie shortstop Trevor Plouffe struck out with the bases loaded to end the game.

Manny Parra (1-3) got credit for the win for pitching two scoreless innings of relief.

Twins starter Carl Pavano (4-5) absorbed the loss, allowing four runs on six hits over eight innings.

Justin Morneau went 2-for-3 to raise his American League-leading batting average to .383 for the Twins.
