CHICAGO, May 23 (UPI) -- Josh Johnson and three Florida relievers combined for a shutout and Cody Ross hit two homers Sunday in the Marlins' 13-0 rout of the Chicago White Sox.
Johnson (5-1) stymied the White Sox on six hits over six innings, walking two without recording a strikeout. Dan Meyer, Clay Hensley and Leo Nunez each tossed a scoreless frame to complete the whitewash and salvage one game of a weekend inter-league series for Florida.
Ross' two-run shot in the first inning capped a four-run Marlins uprising and he added a solo homer in the fifth to make it 8-0, finishing with three hits.
Gaby Sanchez went 3-for-5 with three RBI, Dan Uggla hit a two-run homer and drove in three, and Jorge Cantu and Ronny Paulino each added round-trippers in the rout.
Freddy Garcia (3-3) was rocked for seven runs on seven hits in only 2 1/3 innings for the White Sox.
