
PHOENIX, May 21 (UPI) -- Conor Jackson scored on a wild pitch in the bottom of the eighth inning Thursday and the Arizona Diamondbacks held on to beat San Francisco 8-7.
After Jackson opened the bottom of the eighth with a double, Jeremy Affeldt (2-3) struck out Stephen Drew and then issued an intentional walk to Justin Upton. Jackson went to third on a fielder's choice grounder by Adam LaRoche and then scored on a wild pitch by Affeldt.
Aaron Heilman (1-1) got the win after throwing a perfect eighth for the Diamondbacks and getting the first two outs in the ninth for the Diamondbacks. Chad Qualls struck out Juan Uribe for the final out to get his seventh save.
Aubrey Huff drove in two runs and Juan Uribe and John Bowker each stroked a home run for San Francisco.
Giants Manager Bruce Bochy was ejected in the ninth inning for arguing balls and strikes.
