MLB: Kansas City 9, Cleveland 3

CLEVELAND, May 20 (UPI) -- Luke Hochevar recorded the third complete game of his career Thursday while throwing 107 pitches, bringing the Kansas City Royals 9-3 win over Cleveland.

After losing seven straight games, the Royals have bounced back to win six out of eight.

Hochevar (4-2) allowed three runs on four hits and struck out seven, retiring the last 10 batters he faced.

He received home-run support from Alberto Callaspo, who hit a three-run shot in the third, and Jose Guillen, who contributed a two-run blast in the seventh.

Cleveland has dropped four straight. Mitch Talbot (5-3) took the loss, allowing eight hits and six runs in six innings.

Kansas City has a 5-2 record since Manager Ned Yost took over the club.
