Melky Cabrera followed by hitting a slow grounder to third. Wright charged in, fielded cleanly and threw to first, but Cabrera and the ball arrived at the same time and the throw sailed past first baseman Ike Davis, allowing the winning run to score.

Troy Glaus clubbed a two-run homer and McCann collected a pair of hits to boost the Braves to their sixth win in eight games.

Closer Billy Wagner (3-0) got the win after pitching a scoreless top of the ninth.

Mets starter Johan Santana went seven innings, yielding only two runs on five hits and striking out four.
