Vikings' Asher Allen retires at age 24

FOXBOROUGH, Mass., May 15 (UPI) -- San Jose goalkeeper Joe Cannon notched his third straight shutout Saturday when the Earthquakes and New England Revolution played to a 0-0 draw.
Cannon made a fine save just before halftime when he deflected a hard shot by the Revs' Sainey Nyassi out of bounds.
New England (2-5-2) also had some stellar moments in net from Preston Burpo in the second half when he turned aside a header by Ryan Johnson and a Bobby Burling breakaway.
Joseph Niouky of the Revolution bounced a shot off the goalpost at the 60-minute mark.
San Jose raised its record to 4-2-1 with the tie.
