MLS: Salt Lake 3, Houston 1

SANDY, Utah, May 14 (UPI) -- Alvaro Saborio scored twice Thursday and Real Salt Lake won its third straight game in downing Houston 3-1.

Salt Lake moved into a share of second place with Houston in the Western Conference, nine points behind the leading Los Angeles Galaxy.

Robbie Findley put Salt Lake in front in the third minute, after which Saborio tallied in the 24th and 60th minutes.

Salt Lake added a victory over Houston to recent wins over Philadelphia and Toronto, climbing to 4-3-1 for the season.

The lone Houston goal came from Brian Mullen in the 72nd minute.
