
BALTIMORE, May 13 (UPI) -- Brad Bergesen took a shutout into the eighth inning Wednesday and Adam Jones had three of Baltimore's 12 hits, boosting the Orioles past Seattle 5-2.
Bergesen (3-2) gave up five hits with two walks and three strikeouts, helping Baltimore end a three-game losing streak.
The Orioles gave Bergesen a 5-0 lead going into the eighth, when Ichiro Suzuki reached on a two-out single, stole second and scored Seattle's first run on a single by Chone Figgins.
Alfred Simon worked the ninth for his fourth save, giving up a sacrifice fly to Ken Griffey Jr.
Miguel Tejada doubled home two Baltimore runs in the third, Luke Scott hit a solo homer in the fourth and Jones had an RBI single during a two-run sixth.
Ryan Rowland-Smith (0-3) took the loss, allowing three runs on seven hits in three-plus innings.
The game started after a 24-minute rain delay.
