Ex-Red Wings exec faces child porn charge

DETROIT, May 12 (UPI) -- Matthew Brown, who has quit his executive job with the Detroit Red Wings, is under indictment on a federal child pornography charge, authorities say.

U.S. District Court records show Brown was indicted May 4 on a count of possession of child pornography and was arraigned Monday, the Detroit Free Press reported Wednesday.

Brown was arrested in December as part of an online FBI sting operation and a spokesman for the NHL club said he resigned as the Red Wings' vice president of corporate partnership sales "earlier this year."

The Free Press said Brown allegedly traded photographs of nude preteen girls with an undercover FBI officer. The criminal complaint against him alleges he admitted to investigators he had downloaded dozens of photos of nude children.
