NBA: Los Angeles Lakers 111, Utah 110

SALT LAKE CITY, May 8 (UPI) -- Derek Fisher's late 3-pointer lifted the Los Angeles Lakers to a 111-110 win over Utah and a 3-0 lead in their Western Conference semifinals series.

Fisher's long trey from along the right wing with 28.6 left proved to be the key make during a wild final 2 1/2 minutes, putting the Lakers up 109-108 and enabling them to put a stranglehold on the series.

But the Lakers had to hang on for dear life as Utah missed two chances to win the game in the final seconds -- once when Wesley Matthews found himself open for a 3-pointer but missed, and when Deron Williams clanked a shot off the rim and Matthews' put-back try rolled out at the final buzzer.

Kobe Bryant ended with 35 points, Fisher and Ron Artest added 20 apiece and Pau Gasol contributed 14 points and 17 rebounds for the Lakers, who will seek to finish the sweep Monday in Salt Lake City.

The Jazz got 28 points from Williams while Kyle Korver connected for 23 points off the bench on 9-of-10 shooting.
