
ARLINGTON, Texas, May 8 (UPI) -- Ian Kinsler's RBI single in the eighth inning Saturday broke a tie and lifted the Texas Rangers to a 3-2 win over Kansas City.
With the score tied 2-2, Michael Young walked and Josh Hamilton singled off Gil Meche (0-4), putting runners at first and second. One out later, Kinsler singled to right, plating Young with the go-ahead run.
Chris Ray (1-0) got credit for the win after tossing a scoreless eighth while Neftali Feliz collected his eighth save of the year for the Rangers.
Elvis Andrus notched an RBI and Hamilton drove in Texas' other run.
David DeJesus socked a solo homer and Mitch Maier got an RBI as Kansas City lost for the sixth time in seven games.
Meche lost despite pitching a complete game, allowing three runs on six hits.
