MLB: Milwaukee 3, Arizona 2

PHOENIX, May 8 (UPI) -- Ryan Braun scored the go-ahead run on a wild pitch in the fifth inning Friday and Milwaukee held on the rest of the way to defeat Arizona 3-2.

Braun came up in the fifth with one out and a runner on first in a 2-2 game. He doubled to left-center, but Joe Inglett was thrown out at home. Braun moved to third on the throw and scored when Edwin Jackson (1-4) uncorked a wild pitch.

Starter Yovani Gallardo (4-2) gave up two runs through five innings and was the pitcher of record when Braun scored. Three relievers combined to throw four scoreless innings with Trevor Hoffman working the ninth for his fifth save.

The other two Milwaukee runs came on homers by Rickie Weeks in the third and Jim Edmonds in the fourth.

Milwaukee has won five in a row over Arizona.
