MLB: Toronto 8, Cleveland 5

CLEVELAND, May 5 (UPI) -- Alex Gonzalez stroked a go-ahead RBI double and Jose Bautista homered Tuesday as the Toronto Blue Jays downed Cleveland 8-5.

Gonzalez plated Vernon Wells with his sixth-inning two-bagger, giving the Blue Jays a 6-5 lead and the momentum as they went on to notch their fifth win in six games.

Bautista's two-run shot in the fourth inning highlighted a three-run rally that helped erase an early 4-1 Indians advantage while Travis Snider added three hits and knocked in a run in Toronto's 11-hit win.

Ricky Romero (3-1) got credit for the win despite struggling through six frames.

Shin-Soo Choo and Jhonny Peralta each got two RBIs while Jensen Lewis (2-1) was saddled with the loss after yielding Gonzalez's decisive hit.
