CINCINNATI, May 4 (UPI) -- Rod Barajas belted a tie-breaking homer in the ninth inning Tuesday, lifting the New York Mets to a 5-4 win over Cincinnati.
The two-out poke off Reds closer Francisco Cordero (1-2) gave the Mets the lead and Francisco Rodriguez made it hold up, coming on to pitch a scoreless bottom of the ninth to rack up his fourth save and break the Mets' three-game losing streak.
David Wright also homered while starter John Maine pitched well, allowing only one earned run on four hits with six strikeouts over six innings.
The win went to Pedro Feliciano (1-0) after he recorded the final out in the eighth inning.
The Reds got game-tying back-to-back homers from Joey Votto and Scott Rolen in the bottom of the eighth. Reds starter Bronson Arroyo gave up four runs on seven hits in seven frames.
