Vikings' Asher Allen retires at age 24
SANTA CLARA, Calif., May 2 (UPI) -- Chris Wondolowski scored and the San Jose Earthquakes played a tenacious defense Saturday, prevailing 1-0 over Colorado.
Wondolowski's tally -- his third of the season -- came in the 33rd minute after he collected a pass from Ryan Johnson and shot an 18-yard laser off his left foot that hit the crossbar and caromed in.
The victory moved the Earthquakes to above .500, boosting their record to 3-2-0.
Colorado fell to 3-2-1 with the defeat.
