MLB: Texas 2, Seattle 0 (12 inn.)

SEATTLE, May 1 (UPI) -- Elvis Andrus scored the game's first run in the 12th inning thanks to a wild pitch Friday and Texas escaped with a bizarre 2-0 victory over Seattle.

Texas starter Colby Lewis threw nine shutout innings, after which Darren O'Day and Frank Francisco put together a series of clutch pitches to keep the Rangers in the game.

Seattle loaded the bases with one out in both the 10th and 11th innings and could not push across the winning run.

O'Day got Mike Sweeney to ground into a double play to end the 10th and Francisco threw a pitch past Eric Byrnes in the 11th as Byrnes was attempting a suicide squeeze bunt. Ichiro Suzuki was out at home on the missed squeeze attempt for the second out and Byrnes then struck out to end the inning.

Those missed chances finally cost the Mariners when both Elvis Andrus and Michael Young reached in infield singles to start the 12th against Brandon League (3-2). A throwing error by shortstop Matt Tuiasosopo moved the runners to second and third.

With Josh Hamilton at the plate, League uncorked a wild pitch that allowed Andrus to score and put Young on third, from where he eventually scored on a ground out by Julio Borbon.

Francisco (3-3) got the win and Neftali Feliz worked a perfect bottom of the 12th for his fourth save.
