MIAMI, May 1 (UPI) -- Chris Volstad twirled a four-hit complete game Saturday to lift the Florida Marlins to a 7-1 decision over Washington.

Volstad (2-2) was nearly untouchable, allowing only one run and striking out eight en route to his second career complete game and first since July 8, 2009, against the Giants.

The Marlins got home runs from Jorge Cantu and Hanley Ramirez in the victory, which snapped a three-game winless stretch.

Washington's lone run was driven in by Ivan Rodriguez while Nationals starter Craig Stammen (1-1) was touched for four runs on seven hits in four-plus innings, absorbing the loss.
