MLB: San Diego 9, Milwaukee 0

SAN DIEGO, April 30 (UPI) -- Yorvit Torrealba drove in three runs Thursday and San Diego produced two big innings in running over Milwaukee 9-0.

The Padres won their third in a row, improved their home record to 8-2 and handed the Brewers their third straight setback.

San Diego scored four times in the fourth and five times in the fifth, with Torrealba having a hand in both innings. He had an RBI single in the fourth and eventually scored on a base hit by David Eckstien.

Torrealba drove in two more runs in the fifth and came around to score on Scott Hairston's single.

Wade LeBlanc (2-0) picked up the easy win, despite giving up eight hits over 6 1/3. He did not walk a batter and struck out six. Tim Stauffer went the final 2 2/3 to complete the shutout.

Doug Davis was touched for five runs on eight hits in five innings.

San Diego, which won for the 11th time in 13 outings, opened a six-game homestand.
