ST. LOUIS, April 28 (UPI) -- Jamie Garcia and two relievers combined on a shutout Wednesday that brought St. Louis a 6-0 triumph over Atlanta.

The Braves have dropped eight straight, their longest losing streak in four years.

Garcia (2-1) went seven innings, allowing four hits with one walk and five strikeouts. Kyle McClellan and Mitchell Boggs worked an inning each to preserve the shutout and bring the Cardinals their fourth consecutive win.

Two of the first three St. Louis runs scored on wild pitches and David Freese highlighted a three-run fifth with a two-run single.

Kenshin Kawakami (0-4) took the loss, surrendering five runs on five hits and four walks over 4 1/3.

Atlanta has been blanked twice during its losing streak and has been outscored 34-13 in the eight losses. The Braves also have not hit a home run during the skid, a streak that has stretched to 273 at-bats.
