MLB: Cleveland 9, Los Angeles Angels 2

ANAHEIM, Calif., April 28 (UPI) -- Austin Kearns drove in five runs and Shin-Shoo Choo knocked in two more Tuesday in the Cleveland Indians' 9-2 thumping of the Los Angeles Angels.

Kearns drilled a solo home run in the fifth inning to put Cleveland ahead 3-1 and Choo drove in a run with a single in the sixth as the Tribe put the game out of reach.

Mitch Talbot (3-1) limited the Angels to one run on six hits in 6 1/3 innings.

Brandon Wood had three hits, including a home run, for the Angels. Joe Saunders (1-4) gave up three runs on nine hits and walked four in five innings.

Choo opened the scoring with an RBI single in the third inning and then came home on Kearns' double to make it 2-0.

After Bobby Abreu made it 2-1 in the third with an RBI single, the Tribe tallied six unanswered runs and then traded single runs with the Angels in the ninth inning.
