
DENVER, April 28 (UPI) -- Kelly Johnson's tie-breaking home run in the top of the 10th Wednesday enabled the Arizona Diamondbacks to outlast Colorado 12-11.
The Diamondbacks won despite blowing a 6-0 lead and had to overcome an 11-6 deficit to notch the victory.
Johnson belted his eighth homer of the year off Colorado's Franklin Morales (0-2) to make a winner of Bob Howry (1-0), the Diamondbacks' fifth pitcher, who had posted two scoreless innings of relief.
The save went to Juan Gutierrez, who made Johnson's blast stand up as the winning run by pitching a 1-2-3 bottom of the 10th.
Chris Young homered and drove in five runs and while Justin Upton and Adam LaRoche notched two RBIs apiece in Arizona's win.
Carlos Gonzalez homered and joined four other Rockies with a pair of RBIs while Melvin Mora collected two hits and also drove in two in Colorado's loss.
