NHL: Chicago 5, Nashville 3

NASHVILLE, April 27 (UPI) -- Patrick Sharp and Jonathan Toews each got a goal and two assists Monday as Chicago downed Nashville 5-3 to clinch their Western Conference quarterfinal series.

Duncan Keith added a goal and an assist while Patrick Kane and John Madden got the other scores for Chicago, which prevailed over Nashville 4-2 in the first-round series and advances to face the Vancouver Canucks in the conference semifinals.

Antti Niemi turned aside 25 shots for the Hawks, who won three straight games after falling behind the Predators 2-games-to-1.

Jason Arnott collected a pair of goals and Shea Weber notched a goal and an assist as the Preds fell to 0-5 all-time in playoff elimination games and made a first-round exit for the fifth time in five tries.

Pekka Rinne made 27 saves in Nashville's defeat.
