Car crashes into Hawks' bus, no injuries

MILWAUKEE, April 26 (UPI) -- No one was hurt when a car collided with the Atlanta Hawks' team bus Monday in downtown Milwaukee, team officials said.

Hawks Coach Mike Woodson said the collision occurred as the team was leaving the Bradley Center following a morning shoot-around in preparation for Monday's Eastern Conference quarterfinal playoff game between the Hawks and the Milwaukee Bucks, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reported.

The Hawks lead the series 2-1.

"It wasn't as bad as it could have been," Woodson said. "She (the car's driver) was lucky, I think."

The newspaper said a white Cadillac lurched out of control and bashed into the left side of the bus, surprising the team just as the vehicle had pulled away from the back of the Bradley Center and was idling at a stop sign.

Hawks personnel told the Journal-Constitution the car was traveling at a high rate of speed when it crashed into the bus.

Woodson said he saw a young boy in the car's back seat and pulled him out of the vehicle after seeing smoke coming from a deployed airbag.
